So, we're going to relaunch BATTLESTAR GALACTICA and....hang on....what?
Uhmmm, well we're going to relaunch .....Oh for fuck's sake. Why? Who
would watch more of that cheesy old shit. Wasn't GALACTICA 1980 bad
enough?
Well,. we were going to...look, sigh. who do you have signed on? Anyone? The original crew minus the dead commander Adama?
Well, we have Edward James Olmos and....Hang on...you're kidding
me...you have one of the finest actors in this country signed on for a
remake of BSG?
Yeah.
Olmos has not only been a defining force in good television and movie
acting over the last thirty years but he has been an inspiration and
example to Hispanic actors and viewers by showing that he can do all
the good hispanic roles AND all the good roles where race is irrelevant
and character is all. What he's showing with BSG is that good scripts
and sets and a great approach to a concept can become the best
television you;ve seen for a long time when married with a truthful and
empassioned performance form a stage and screen veteran such as
himself.
